La Rosière also opens for the summer season in July and August. The weather in the mountains during the summer is generally very warm but can change!

There are a range of activities available in La Rosière and further afield including:

  • Running and walking in the mountains. A couple of chair lifts are open to take you up from the village, if you want to. You can also catch the chair lift back down
  • Mountain biking – there are marked trails for mountain bikers of varying grades of difficulty.
  • Golf – La Rosière has its own golf course with some of the highest greens in Europe
  • Cycling – including a timed climb from Séez to La Rosière – the last part of the 11th stage in the 2018 Tour de France, won by Geraint Thomas. The current record to beat is 40 minutes 42.66 seconds.
  • Parapenting
  • White water rafting, canyoning, hydrospeed, paddle boarding and kayaking (in Bourg St Maurice)
  • Horseriding
  • Tennis
  • Archery
  • Pétanque (boules)
  • Fishing
  • The Plan d’Arc – an area that embraces nature and leisure for all – with water-based activities, sun-bathing, a skatepark, tobogganing, a climbing wall and room for different sports and barbecuing.
  • There are many local festivals, both in La Rosière and nearby villages
  • Spend time in one of the spas
  • Travel to Italy – the Little St Bernard pass is open giving access to La Thuile, Pré St Didier (and its thermal baths), Courmayeur and north west Italy.
  • The Club des Galopins is free for children!
  • The Xtreme Luge is open – a 700m descent from the village through the woods with speeds of up to 45 km/h. There is also a snack bar whilst you admire the views
